Type 2 diabetes is one of the easiest conditions to solve, WHEN and only when the patient is ready to adopt a simple lifestyle protocol. The fact of the matter is that the biggest thing that stands in the way of those with type 2 diabetes is their addictions to food and a lifestyle that perpetuates the underlying problems.

First of all, what causes type 2 diabetes? Although there are many things that can contribute, the single most important factor is what the person has been putting in their mouth throughout their lifetime that hasn’t been properly addressed to not only stop the insults, but to reverse those from decades past. It’s one thing to stop eating the wrong foods for a few months or years, but it is entirely another to eat the right foods for a long enough period off time to detox the insults that keep the condition alive.

Which two areas are predominantly the issue when it comes to Type 2 diabetes? The liver, and the pancreas. Now, before you go and buy herbs and supplements to fix those areas, or claim you’ve been drinking dandelion root tea or are doing some other one off remedy, know that these myopic approaches will not reverse the condition to any real degree.

To fix those two areas, and they aren’t the only organs and glands involved, you need to focus on giving them a rest, and restoring their integrity and function on a consistent and comprehensive basis. And this is where most people get lost, and often quit before they get started.

For those who aren’t quitters and are committed to changing their life for the better, lets continue on…

To rest and revitalize the liver, hydration, from FOOD mostly and NOT water, is essential. This means cutting out dehydrating items like flours, processed sugars, animal products, coffee, and alcohol. Also, cutting back on fats, especially bad ones, is necessary to support rejuvenation of the liver which is taxed with creating bile to break them down. Finally, keeping the overall glycemic load low, which does NOT mean no sugar and to avoid all fruits but simply to focus on ones that are water dense and not as concentrated with natural sugars, is very important. To revitalize your liver, sour, tart, and bitter foods need to be incorporated into various food preparations. There doesn’t need to be a motherlode, and they can be used in a way that you often don’t even really taste them.

Now, to recuperate the pancreas, there needs to be a significant shift from “dead” foods, to “living” foods. This means far less cooked and far more raw foods in the diet, in order to flood the body with the enzymes needed to support the pancreas and improve digestive function, of which it is a major player. The more enzymes that need to be secreted from the pancreas to break down sugars, fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, the more tired and incapacitated it will get, which will disturb the digestive process and negatively impact the liver and the rest of the body. Keep in mind there are some meal preparations that can be cooked in addition to raw meals, but the end product must be hydrating, nutrient rich, and easy to digest.

From a supplemental standpoint, the two biggest factors are enzymes and bitters. The pancreas and liver love both, and they can be easily incorporated without creating too much of a detox effect. If you rely on these at the expense of fixing the diet as already outlined, your results will be poor and short term.

Lifestyle wise, although exercise can be beneficial, it it the least bang for your buck as it doesn’t solve the issues with the liver, pancreas, and digestion to any meaningful extent. If you spend the same amount of time in the kitchen as you do in the gym, you’ll get FAR better results. If you’re drinking dead or dirty water, the 8-12 glasses a day is hindering you more than helping you. And if you’re avoiding the sun because you burn easily, you’re only exacerbating your condition that is already facilitating low Vitamin D levels.

That’s how you do it, in a nutshell, and this approach has been proven. Don’t know what to eat, how to make it taste good and be medicinal, or which supplements to take?
